MSU BASEBALL
 
DENVER, Colo. (MSU) – Seniors Mark Ossanna and Ricky Apodaca each collected four hits to help propel the Minot State Beavers over the Regis Rangers 20-5 on Sunday in non-conference action. Senior Cameron Bagshaw (1-0) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Minot State (1-2 overall). The right-hander went 1.1 shutout innings without giving up a hit. Junior Gage Eastlick also made an impact on the mound for the Beavers, throwing two shutout innings while allowing three hits, with no walks and one strikeout. In addition to his four hits, Apodaca had a double and three RBI to lead the Beavers. Ossanna added three doubles and an RBI to his four-hit performance as well. Junior Gunnar Kozlowitz also chipped in for Minot State, putting together two hits in three trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and four RBI. The Beavers scored in seven different innings on the way to victory. Minot State took the lead for good at 1-0 in the first inning The big hits for the Beavers in the inning were a two-run double off the bat of Kozlowitz and a two-run single from Apodaca.

MSU MENS WRESTLING
 
MOORHEAD, Minn. (MSU) – Brendan Barnes and Cayden White led the way as each picked up wins by pin for the Beavers as the Minot State’s men’s wrestling team closed the regular season with a dominating 37-8 victory at Minnesota State Moorhead on Sunday. Barnes won his 165-pound match by pin 48 seconds into the third round over Jacob Reinardy, while White won in a quick 1 minute, 36 seconds in his 184-pound match with Anthony Sykora. Those were the two pins on the day for the Beavers (10-7 overall, 5-4 NSIC) who racked up victories in eight of the days’ 10 matches. Kelby Armstrong (157) and Cannon Potts (197) added wins by technical fall, with Armstrong scoring a 15-0 win and Potts a 19-1 victory, while Logen Fischer (125), Wayne Joint (133), and Jake Swirple (285) won by major decision. Fischer picked up a 15-6 victory, Joint won his match 15-2, and Swirple rolled to a 10-2 win. Ryan Hrcka (149) added the other victory for Minot State on the day, an 8-7 decision over Gunnar Mogen, as Minot State won its fourth straight dual and its second in a row and all-time over MSU Moorhead. Next up, Minot State will host the NCAA Super Region V tournament on Saturday, March 2, at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds.
