MSU WOMENS BASKETBALL
 
MINOT, ND (MSU) – The Minot State women’s basketball team got a 27-point performance from the bench on the way to a 72-58 victory over the Valley City State Vikings at home Tuesday in non-conference action. The Education Day Game thrilled a crowd of elementary school students from the area, along with Minot State faculty and staff as the Beavers were playing just their second home game this season. The Beavers (3-8 overall) had three players score in double figures, led by Taylor Goss, who had 21 points. Emily Srejma added 16 points and two steals off the bench and Sydney Gustavsson helped out with 14 points and two steals. Minot State forced 26 Valley City State turnovers while committing 20 themselves in Tuesday’s game. The Beavers turned those takeaways into 24 points on the offensive end of the floor. Srejma’s two steals led the way for Minot State. The Beavers host UMary on Saturday at 3:30 pm.

WILD-FLAMES
 
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Matt Boldy scored twice and had an assist, leading the Minnesota Wild to a 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night. Kirill Kaprizov had a goal and an assist, and Marcus Foligno and Joel Eriksson Ek also scored for the Wild (9-10-4), who improved to 4-0-0 since Jon Hynes replaced Dean Evason as head coach Nov. 27. Minnesota has outscored its opponents 18-5 in the four games since the coaching change. Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson had 28 saves and improved his career mark against Calgary to 4-0-1. Mats Zuccarello’s assist on Kaprizov’s goal was the 600th of his career. The 36-year-old extended his point streak to 10 games with three goals and 11 assists in that span. The Wild play at Vancouver on Thursday.
