MINOT, ND – The Minot High girls soccer team clinched a state tournament berth and captured the regular season WDA conference title last night. The Majettes improve to 12-0-1 overall, 7-0-1 in the WDA. They have outscored opponents 53-6.

NORTHWOODS LEAGUE-SOFTBALL
MINOT, ND – Even as the Minot Hot Tots are preparing for your inaugural season to begin, the Northwoods League has announced that they are adding more teams, but not baseball. The Northwoods League has announced the launch of a new women’s summer collegiate softball league. The league, which is set to debut in the summer of 2024, will provide female college athletes with an opportunity to compete at a high level during their offseason. Initially, the new league will be comprised of teams from across the Northwoods League’s footprint. Team locations will be announced at a future date. The teams will play a 40-game schedule, with games starting in June and running through the beginning of August. Meanwhile, the Hot Tots will open the season on Memorial Day at Corbett Field hosting St. Cloud. Minot will play 36 home games at Corbett this summer with the regular season running through August 12th.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bailey Ober allowed one run in six innings, Kyle Farmer homered and drove in three runs, and the Minnesota Twins defeated Los Angeles 5-1 Tuesday night as Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw took the mound three days after the death of his mother. Kershaw struck out seven in four innings, but faced constant traffic. He allowed seven hits, one walk and hit a batter. Ober (3-0) allowed one run on six hits and struck out six. The Twins got their leadoff batter aboard four times and converted that into runs three times. Farmer extended his hitting streak to nine games with an RBI single in the first inning. The third baseman then extended the lead to four runs in the ninth with a two-run shot to left-center. Willi Castro had two hits, including an RBI single in the fourth, and had two stolen bases for the AL Central-leading Twins, who have won five of their last seven games.
