Projects being completed by NDDOT, Ward County and private contractors may not be on this list. All Dates are estimates and some projects are scheduled to go beyond the date of this report. In addition, there will always be several small pockets of construction and maintenance throughout the city, so residents are urged to give themselves extra travel time during the entire construction season.

Please note that the North Dakota State Fair runs now through Saturday, July 26th. Speed limits on Burdick Expressway between 18th Street SE and 27th Street SE are reduced to 25 MPH through July 26th. Watch for pedestrian traffic at all times.

Due to high traffic volumes during the North Dakota State Fair, road closures will take place on July 24th and 26th. On these nights, 27th Street SE/County Road 19 will be closed to south bound traffic from 4pm to 8pm. If you are not attending the Fair, please use the 55th Street bypass as an alternative route to avoid traffic delays. Check in will not be available for State Fair campers from 4pm to 8pm on these nights.

Buses will be transporting Fairgoers from the JC Penney Court of Dakota Square Mall to the North Dakota State Fairgrounds and back again. Buses are scheduled to run from 1pm - 1am on Thursday July 24, Friday July 25 and Saturday July 26.

6th Street SW
6th Street SW will be closed from Central Avenue to Burdick Expressway. Due to numerous violations regarding traffic control in the area and threats to worker safety, the road will remain completely closed for the duration of the street reconstruction portion of the project. This area is also closed to pedestrian traffic. Do not attempt to walk around the area until sidewalks have been constructed and barriers have been taken down. The street portion of the project is expected to go through the month of August. The south entrance to City Hall and the Minot Police Department is closed. Access to the Minot Public Library, Minot Police Department and City Hall is now fully available via 2nd Avenue SW. Soltis Business Forms can be accessed via Western Avenue to 3rd Avenue SW.

As part of the utility project for the 6th Street project and the 3rd Avenue / 5th Street project, the north lanes of Burdick Expressway SW will be closed between 4th Street and 6th Street SW. This is the area of Burdick Expressway directly in front of the Auditorium. Traffic will be shifted to head to head in the south lanes. The signals at the intersection of 6th Street and Burdick Expressway will be placed in to ├??├?┬ó??flash mode├??├?┬ó?? to keep traffic flowing more steadily on Burdick Expressway. Motorists on 6th Street northbound will be required to make a full stop, and note the No Left Turn sign that will be in place. Left turns from Burdick Expressway east bound on to
6th Street are also prohibited. The lane closure will shift to the south after the work in the north lanes are complete. This project will go in to the month of July.
