Bishop Ryan high school will have a new head football and track coach this fall....

MINOT, ND - Bishop Ryan high school will have a new head football and track coach this fall.  Athletic Director Bryan Kramer says in a press release that the school has hired Zach Rudolph as a full-time phy ed and health education instructor as well as head coach of football and track.

Brad Borkuis had been the head football coach the past four years compiling a 26-14 record and reaching the Class Double A playoffs the last three seasons.

MINOT, N.D. (MSU) - The Minot State University football team announced their first wave of signings for the recruiting class of 2014, officials announced Thursday afternoon.

The Beavers have brought in 20 student-athletes from all over the United States of America to continue both the academic and athletic careers at Minot State beginning in the fall of 2014.

Four of those athletes are local products:

Kimani Benjamin, 6-1, 180, WR, Minot, N.D. (Minot High School)
Brady Lampert, 5-10, 190, RB, Minot, N.D. (Minot High School)
Tanner Holte, 6-4, 215, DL, Burlington, N.D. (Des Lacs-Burlington High School)
    Mitchel White, 6-0, 185, DB, Berthold, N.D. (Lewis & Clark-Berthold High School)

Head Coach Tyler Hughes and his staff plan to sign more student-athletes as the summer progresses and should have a recruiting class of over 30 signees by the time training camp starts in August.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Two players from NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision schools are transferring to the University of North Dakota.  UND competes in the lower Football Championship Subdivision. The school announced this week that University of Minnesota defensive tackle Jordan Hinojosa (hihn-oh-HOH'-suh) and University of Houston defensive back Alex Tillman are transferring.  Tillman will have one season of eligibility at UND and Hinojosa will have three.

UNDATED (AP) - The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to be the first into the conference finals when they host the Rangers tonight.  The Pens take a 3-1 lead into tonight's Eastern Conference semifinal.  They've taken command of the series by limiting the Rangers to just five goals in four games, including two straight shutouts by Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury.  Even in the Penguins' 4-2 win in Game 4, the Rangers only managed 15 shots on goal.  And New York's power play has been downright awful, without a goal in the last 36 man advantages.
Minnesota hosts the Blackhawks tonight with Chicago leading that series 2-1.  The Wild got back in it with a 4-0 win Wednesday and hope their defensive efforts continue tonight.  They have held the Blackhawks, the second-highest-scoring team in the league during the regular season, to an average of only 21 shots on goal over the first three games.

UNDATED (AP) - The Pacers and Wizards resume their NBA Eastern Conference semifinal series tonight in Washington.  They split the first two games at Indiana, where Roy Hibbert seemed to be the X-factor.
In Game 1 the Pacers center was shutout in the scoring and rebounding columns, but in Game 2 he broke out of his postseason funk with a 10-of-13 shooting performance good for a game-high 28 points.
The Wizards will be looking to rebound from their worst playoff game of the season.  They made only five of 21 3-pointers, five of 12 free throws, and did not have a single fast-break basket.
The Clippers will get the home court edge tonight when they host Oklahoma City with their Western Conference series tied at a game each. They'll try to shake off the effects of a dominating Thunder win in Game 2. OKC's big two of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook helped bury the Clippers. Durant had 32 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists, and Westbrook had 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
The NBA's newly crowned Sixth Man of the Year, Jamal Crawford will try to find his game after being held to 7 points in Game 2, 11 below his average.

NEW YORK (AP) - The NBA has chosen Dick Parsons as interim CEO of the Los Angeles Clippers. Parsons is a former Citigroup chairman and former Time Warner chairman and CEO.  He will oversee the franchise while the league tries to force owner Donald Sterling to sell it following his lifetime ban for making racist remarks.
With Sterling banned from anything to do with the team or league, and team President Andy Roeser on an indefinite leave of absence, the league and Clippers worked together to find a CEO.  Parsons says he has been "deeply troubled" by the Clippers' situation.

NEW YORK (AP) - Day 2 of the NFL draft is on tap with second- and third-round selections scheduled to be made in New York City tonight.  Expect to see running backs start to come off the boards. For the second straight year, none were taken in the first round.  Among the college star backs available are Carlos Hyde, Bishop Sankey, Tre Mason and Ka'Deem Carey.
