MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have placed center fielder Aaron Hicks on the seven-day disabled list with concussion-like symptoms.  The move was made before tonight's game against Baltimore. Left-handed pitcher Logan Darnell was recalled from Triple-A Rochester to fill the roster spot.

Hicks left the second game of Minnesota's doubleheader Thursday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers after banging his head against the wall while reaching for Scott Van Slyke's deep fly ball in the sixth inning.

Sam Fuld will play center field in place of Hicks.

Darnell was drafted by the Twins in the sixth round in 2010. In four starts for Rochester, he posted a 1.69 ERA in 21 1-3 innings with 21 strikeouts and seven walks.

UNDATED (AP) - The opening games in two NHL second-round playoff series are being played tonight in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

In the Steel City the Penguins are hosting the New York Rangers in their first game. The Pens advanced with a 4-2 series win over the Blue Jackets while the Rangers eliminated the Flyers in seven games.

In Chicago tonight the Blackhawks and Wild kick off their best-of-seven series. The visiting Wild advanced with a 4-3 series win over the Avalanche while the Blackhawks knocked off the Blues in six games.

The second game in each series will be played on Sunday once again in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNDATED (AP) - The Raptors, Spurs and Blazers can all advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs with wins tonight. The Raptors top the Nets 3-2 and this evening's sixth game is being played in New York. If the home team wins, a seventh and deciding game will be played Sunday in Toronto.

The Spurs and Mavericks are back on the court tonight in Dallas with San Antonio leading the series 3-2. If the Mavs walk off the floor with a win they would force a seventh game Sunday in the Alamo City.

And in the final game of the night the Blazers can finish off the Houston Rockets with a win in front of their own fans. If the Rockets prevail the final game of the series would be Sunday in Houston.
