    MINOT, ND - Girls basketball comes your way tonight on K-Heart as the No.1 ranked and defending state champion Bishop Ryan Lions travel to Velva to battle the Aggies.  Bishop Ryan will try to extend their 42 game winning streak dating back to the end to the 2011-12 season.  Pre-game is set for 7:05pm on 106.9 K-Heart and online at


     BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The Canadian Football League's Saskatchewan Roughriders have released receiver Weston Dressler to give him the opportunity to sign with a National Football League team.
     The former Bismarck High and University of North Dakota standout played six seasons with the Roughriders, topping the 1,000-yard receiving mark five times. He also was the CFL's rookie of the year in 2008 and won a Grey Cup championship with the team this past season.
     Dressler says a deal with an NFL team is imminent, though he isn't saying which one. He had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs a few weeks ago.


     NEW YORK (AP) - NFL commissioner Roger Goodell held his annual Super Bowl news conference and as always touched on several topics. Among other things he said expanded playoffs "continue to get serious consideration," the location of a team in London is "further down the road" and the Washington nickname is "presented in a way that honors Native Americans."

     NEW YORK (AP) - Coaches John Fox of Denver and Pete Carroll of Seattle met with reporters this morning and from all indications enjoyed themselves. They appeared relaxed and joked with members of the audience in the final pre-Super Bowl news conference.

     ST. LOUIS (AP) - Are the St. Louis Rams thinking about a move to Los Angeles? A company tied to the owner of the team has purchased a prime piece of land in Los Angeles amid speculation the NFL franchise is considering a return to the city. The Rams can break their 30-year lease in St. Louis after the 2014 season.

     UNDATED (AP) - Zach Parise of the Minnesota Wild has been named captain of the U.S. men's hockey team for the Sochi Olympics. The team says Minnesota defenseman Ryan Suter and center Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings will be the alternate captains.
